John 10:27-29 (AMPC)
27 The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all [else]; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father's hand.Matthew 7:23 (NLT)
23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’
The king knows his followers not because of their claims, praise, or even faithful service. He knows those who are actually with Him in heart by those who have chosen to follow him, his laws, and his cause. What he has declared and implemented as a way of life for those in his kingdom will be noticeably followed with passion. However, those pretenders whose hearts were never really his won’t bother to seek him, his will and passion. In the moment of needed validation for admission to his presence, whether or not he can confirm even knowing them will be determined by whether or not they showed up to honor him and fulfill his directives. Remaining with him and enjoying the blessing of his realm will be determined by how much his presence and service have already been sought.
It's been another great opportunity to establish again that Jesus is our King and not just the King. Other things that we are faithful to show up for in life have been set aside to make it clearly known to our King that there is none before Him. There has been a seeking of His kingdom, worshiping Him, learning of and following His ways, loving Him by loving his people, and abiding where His authority is established. Our face has been a frequent presence at His throne of grace, asking and receiving according to His will. Beyond this designated period of prayer and fasting, though, will be an established lifestyle that only craves and is fully satisfied by seeking and serving our King. Our faces will be among those He affirms knowing because of their frequent visibility at His throne. And, our worship of Him will go far beyond the sounds of music to the demonstration of love in fulfilling His passion for His body. It will be said by our King that, yes, He always knew us. We were always right in the place He prepared for us at His side, seeking Him, His will, and all that is His – His kingdom.
"Because I have found my life in seeking the King as my Shepherd, I am ensuring that His words will be that He always knew me from my continual obedience and worship of Him.”
