Hebrews 9:15
15 That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.

In every triumph over sin and death in the flesh, Jesus provided for us a complete separation from the power of those things to enslave and condemn. As great as the price was for this undeserved provision of forgiveness and mercy, until there is an answer to the call to receive and be transformed by it, there can be no experience of its liberation to life. As He overcame completely in His sacrificed life, so receiving and applying this gift will look like complete overcoming in the life that has received redemption as a complete substitution of the old for the new. There will no longer be a commitment to a lifestyle dominated by chains of fleshly demands. His righteousness becomes ours. His holiness is who we are. His goodness overwhelms all the old badness. We are completely transformed from the divisive, selfish, and devilish lives of the uncalled, to the sweet, responsive, submissive, holy, and honoring life of those who have answered His call to sing the song of the redeemed. Being justified, made to be like we had never been enslaved, will be wonderfully effective with each yielding to its work in a sanctified life.
