Day 18 - At Your Feet

Hebrews 4:16 (TLB)
16 So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.

Once confidence is established in a source of help, the searching stops and the hesitation about returning disappears. When a service consistently brings relief without adding stress or anxiety, we return readily and without fear. Even a dentist who can relieve pain gently becomes someone we are quick to schedule again. In fact, just pulling into the parking lot can bring a sense of relief because we know what kind of care awaits.

My wife recently experienced this when she needed an extraction—something that is often traumatic. Instead, she found a dentist who turned what is usually dreaded into something she described as almost pleasant. Once she had “tasted” that kind of care, there was no longer any reluctance, only confidence in returning to him again.

The same is true when we first come to the place of grace. There may be hesitation and uncertainty about this unseen life found in the Lordship of Christ. But once that first step is taken—from darkness into light—the encounter with His presence brings a kind of comfort and healing found nowhere else. As we submit to His restoring and providing care, confidence grows, and we return again and again with boldness.

When healing, understanding, freedom, and provision touch our lives with resurrection power, help no longer feels distant or uncertain—it becomes an anchor for the heart. Through the blood of Jesus we are given access to the very foot of His throne, and grace begins to permeate every part of life with an anointing  that breaks every yoke of bondage. For the heart that has experienced this help, there is no longer retreat, only bold return to this place of refuge in His Name, at His feet.
