Hebrews 4:15-16
15 For we have not a High Priest who is unable to feel for us in our weaknesses, but one who was tempted in every respect just as we are tempted, and yet did not sin.
16 Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our times of need.
In order to be helped by the doctor, the master, the one with a proven record of success and victory, there must be a willingness to let go of both achievements and failures of the past. Their insight will be of no effect as long as there is still a hold on past experience that is inhibiting bold and confident embracing of the specialist's expertise in the area of need. Belief in their track record must remove all hesitance in letting go. With an increased impression of where they've been and what they've done will come the confidence to access what they have to offer willingly.
The purpose of separation from past dependencies, though, is not to just achieve something or move to a higher status. There is this wonderful letting go of things that would lessen an exuberant approach to the Master and His proven success over weakness in the flesh. What He offers requires no prerequisite of victories to attain and is inhibited by no condemning failures. A confident embrace of His unmerited power is in the relinquished hold on them. In this amazing movement toward Him is the discovery of help in a Father's embrace free of any prior qualifications.
"Confidence and boldness increasingly displace insecurity every time I go to my place at the throne of grace where I’m understood, embraced, and helped in His presence.”
